We’re so excited to be kicking off Season 7 of Catalog & Cocktails: The Honest, No-BS Data Podcast. We’ve already got a jam-packed roster of experts, iconoclasts, thinkers, and builders on the schedule. So here’s what you can look forward to in Season 7.

First, Jeremiah Owyang, general partner at Blitzscaling Ventures, will chat with us about how AI is going to help humanity accomplish many of society’s biggest challenges, from health to learning to work and more. But our AI-future will look different to today, sometimes in practically unimaginable ways. We’ll consult our crystal ball and look forward.

Then, Samia Rahman, director of enterprise data strategy and governance at Seagen, will join us. She's a data mesh expert, and she’ll be telling us why data mesh often gets mesh-understood (we’re sorry…we know). Should data governance and AI live in different places? How should they partner? More will be revealed…

Santona Tuli, head of data at Upsolver, is a voice we respect on how data teams assemble. We’ll be talking data roles, data culture, data workflows, and the function of data at a company. There may not be an “I” in team, but there definitely is data.

Jessica Talisman, one of Amazon’s information architects, is here to build us a beautiful AI foundation. Because without information architecture, there can be no AI. We’ll get the blueprint for taking information architecture beyond browser menus and UX/UI trends.

Paco Nathan may be the first evil, mad scientist 👿🧪 on Catalog & Cocktails (but hopefully, not the last!). We will be talking about AI, LLM, RAG and Knowledge Graphs.

Eva Nahari, principal at DNX Ventures, knows that if you really want to win, you need to take big risks. But how much risk is too much risk? She’ll talk to us about the current genAI investment environment.

Karen Meppen is the Director Client Services at Hakkoda. You can’t simply lift and shift your traditional data governance practices to AI governance, right? So what’s the playbook? We’ll get into it.

Shhh...do you hear that? It's Scott Taylor - The Data Whisperer. And he's here to tell a story: A data story. He'll disclose some hard-won truths. He'll philosophically approach the idea of truth before meaning. And there may even be data puppets.

Amy Raygada, senior data product manager at SMG Swiss Marketplace Group, works at the cross-section of arguably the most important thing to a business: aligning data strategy with corporate vision. How do you ACTUALLY use data to achieve business goals, and how do you know if you're going in the right direction? She’ll share some of that secret sauce.

Eva Bosma is the practice lead genAI and data strategy consultant at Xebia. As big as the AI craze already is - how much bigger can we go? Should we go? Is it too late to get all hyped up about AI?  We discuss.

And that’s not the entire list of upcoming guests. More will be announced soon!

So tune in wherever you get your podcasts, or join us live on Wednesdays at 2 PM PST. Find past episodes here. We can’t wait for our best season yet.
